In this work, we have prepared nitrogenated Fe1-xCux alloys by reactive evaporation under a flow of nitrogen ions. After annealing, X-ray diffraction shows that we have synthesized the gamma'-(Fe1-xCux)(4)N (0.05 <= x <= 0.15) compounds. The films were investigated by Mossbauer spectroscopy. The crystallographic structure and the respective positions of the Fe and Cu atoms in the compounds have been determined. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
