The effects of applied transverse field on transition and compensation temperatures of the AB(p)C(1-p) ternary alloy consisting of spins S-A=3/2 S-B and S-C =5/2 are investigated by the use of a mean-field theory. The structure and the spin values of the model correspond to the Prussian blue analog of the type ((FePMn1-pII)-Mn-II)(1.5)[Cr-III (CN)(6)]center dot nH(2)OWe find that two or even three compensation points may be induced by a transverse field for the system with appropriate values of the parameters in the model Hamiltonian. In particular, the influence of a transverse field on the compensation point in the ground state is examined. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
