Coal mines in Ukraine’s Lviv region in the westernpart of the country plan to boost output by 25% in 2015 tocompensate for the shortfall in the Donetsk and Luganskregions due to fighting, the energy and coal industryministry said Monday.Lviv-based, state-owned producer LvivVuhillia plans toproduce 2 million mt of coal in 2015, up from the 1.6 millionmt expected to be produced in 2014, the ministry said.
