Prices in European steel sheet markets have continued to decline during recentweeks. Buyers sit firmly in the driving seat, with ample availability of domestic and importedsteel and this pressure has reflected in lower prices in comparison to last month. Lack of profitability means that some producers are shutting down or tapering output, but thishas had no impact on the market. In the final months of the year we forecast that theEuropean sheet market will remain oversupplied, keeping pressure on prices as a result.
