Experiment was conducted to determine the expression levels of Cry 1 Ac and Cry2Ab from transgenic cotton leaves of eighteen genotypes and mortality of Helicoverpa armigera (Hub.) and Spodoptera litura (Fab.) was studied on the same genotypes during kharif, 2011 -2012 at Department of Agricultural Entomology, VNMKV, Parbhani. The levels of insecticidal protein of Cry 1 Ac was found to be significantly highest (12.22 mug/g), in MRC 7351 BGII and UPLHH 2 Fusion Bt while in Dhanwan BGII (NCS 868) Cry2Abprotein content was 489.2 ig/g. The highest mortality (96.66 per cent) of Helicoverpa larvae was recorded in ACH 11 BG II and TCHH-4 BG II hybrids whereas the highest mortality (76.66 per cent) of Spodoptera larvae was observed in ACH 11 BG II, Kaveri Jackpot BG II and TCHH-4 BGII.
