摘要

Microbial electrosynthesis (MES), a process that uses electricity as energy source for driving the production of chemicals and fuels using microorganisms and CO_2 or organics as carbon sources, has recently gained attention as a bio- sustainable strategy for the production of bio-methane due to its efficiency and versatility. In this review the scientific context, the challenges and some case- studies of microbial electrosynthesis of methane are briefly discussed.
