In her World Report (Feb 2, p 373)/ Jan McGirk describes the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In particular she reports on critically ill Gazan patients who died because of the Israeli blockade. We can only mourn for any human being who dies or suffers because of lack of medical care. However, McGirk's words make it sound as though Israelis committed this "crime" intentionally. Indeed, it is obvious that Israel does not want to punish civilians, but the Israeli government has to protect its own people from a terrorist government calling for the destruction of Israel.
