摘要

In the wake of the rapid evolution of information communication technology (ICT), including the internet, data process and knowledge management during the last three decades, much attention has been given to the introduction of ICT to the agriculturalsector in India, and to ensuring its adoption by stakeholders. With apparent ability to provide rich information and knowledge to a large number of people, optimism has been raised about the role of ICT as a tool for disseminating innovations in the agricultural sector. The present cotton cultivation especially after the recent introduction of innovative technologies by public and private R&Ds and technology driven Bt Cotton requires a knowledgeable farmer with the capability of using up-to-date technology for crop management and input applications. Unfortunately, farmers never have all the information available in a usable form at the time when management decisions must be made. This article analyses, how the various tools of ICT can be utilizedforfurther fine tuning the knowledge management and to improve the decision making capacity among farming community especially cotton growers.
