摘要

The present study aims to establish the relation between mechanical properties of yarns and micronaire of cottons. Five varieties of various micronaire cottons were selected for yarn preparation. Physical properties of fibres were estimated first andthen yarns of same count and same twist per inch (TPI) were spun. Mechanical parameters of yarns such as breaking strength, elongation, work of rupture and specific work of rupture were estimated. From the analysis of data it could be said that micronaire of cotton fibres, affects the mechanical properties of yarns and as micronare of cottons increase, the mechanical properties of yarn decreases and vice versa.
