Silico-manganese produced in India has continued the offensive to sell at discounted prices. The price of Indian silico-manganese at the beginning of 2009 was 1,100 US dollars per metric ton CIF Japan but has fallen to 950 - 975 US dollars CIF from the beginning of April, having entered into a level of 900 US dollars per metric ton. Under the present situation which the world demand to import silico-manganese has decreased to a considerable extent, Indian silico-manganese has become a powerful competitor for silico-manganese produced in China.
