The steel sector in the US today faces an "eerily similar situation" to the time when former giants went bankrupt, says Andy Harshaw, president and CEO of ArcelorMittal USA Flat Carbon.In a blog on the division's website, he said the industry is confronted by a strong US dollar, global overcapacity and low material costs, as well high imports causing prices and capacity utilisation to drop.
