摘要

Catalytic activity during the formation ofpolyethylene (PE)/clay nanocomposites by in situ polymer-ization with metallocenes was studied. Ethylene polymer-ization was carried out with the homogeneous metallocenein the presence of the clay particles and using the clay-sup-ported metallocene catalyst. It was found that the catalyticactivity of the homogeneous metallocene does not decreasein the presence of the clay particles and only a slightdecrease of activity occurs using the clay-supported cata-lyst. The modification of the clay with MAO cocatalyst aswell as its intercalation with ODA surfactant were found toplay an important role during the in situ formation of the
