Japanese scrap prices went up in Vietnam for the last couple of working days, which pushed the whole market up. UScontainer scrap price advanced in Taiwan as well. Japanese sellers sold 10,000 t of HMS 2 by bulk at $219/t CFR South Vietnam late last week, up by $4/t compared toweek ago contracts. Today, another 10,000 t cargo has been sold at $221/t CFR North Vietnam, lifting up the benchmarkprice. FOB-prices to SE Asia soared by JPY 100?900/t ($1?8/t) to JPY 22,600?23,400/t ($199?206/t; $1 = JPY 113.53)after the Vietnam deal was closed at the higher price.
