Transversal acoustic modes in resonant Raman: CdTe surface roughness study

摘要

In this work, we show that the shape line of the Raman spectra of CdTe for a small mean roughness, measured with an excitation wavelength near to the critical point E0, depends on the acoustic modes. The application of the spatial correlation model shows that there are two regions clearly defined, associated with the size of the wrinkle. One related to the phonon modes: TO, LO, 2TO and 2LO for big wrinkles; and a second one for an almost smooth surface that is dependent on the acoustic modes. The results reported here can be applied to characterize the quality of smoothness of a surface or to estimate the superficial rugosity under resonance conditions when this information is missing.
