Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are engaging in “very positive” discussions over the resumption of oil output in the shared Neutral Zone, according to Kuwait Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled al- Jarallah. Output from the Neutral Zone - which amounted to 500,000 b/d in 2013 - was suspended four years ago because of a political impasse between the two Opec members (IOD Jul.25’19). Last month, Saudi Oil Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman put the zone’s current production capacity at around 400,000 b/d (IOD Sep.13’19).
