Unveiling its manifesto for the UK general election on Dec. 12, the main opposition Labour Party has pledged to lead the world in fighting the “climate and environmental emergency” by launching a “green industrial revolution." The effort would be funded in part through a one-off ￡11 billion ($14.2 billion) windfall tax on oil companies that “knowingly damaged our climate,” the document says.
