Norwegian floating production player BW Offshore expects to take a final investment decision (FID) by end-June on Namibia's long-awaited Kudu gas-to-power project, following a decision by the government to halve the size of the associated power plant. Kudu operator BW Offshore, with a 56% equity stake, had planned to sanction the project late last year. But CEO Carl Arnet told investors during a recent presentation in Oslo that a FID had been delayed because of Windhoek's decision to slash the capacity of the planned combined cycle gas turbine power plant to 440 megawatts.
