Construction of a gas receiving terminal has begun in Turkey as part of Gazprom’s Turk Stream offshore pipeline project, the Russian state giant’s South Stream Transport subsidiary operating the project said Wednesday. The terminal is being built by Petrofac, which was awarded a ?340 million ($415 million) contract by South Stream Transport last September to build landfall site infrastructure for Turk Stream near the town of Kiyikoy in the Thrace region (IOD Sep.7’17). Petrofac has contracted Turkish construction company Tekfen as its main subcontractor, South Stream Transport said.
