The UK can afford no more delays to projects that are designed to develop carbon capture and storage (CCS) if it is going to meet its climate change obligations, the head of the Carbon Capture and Storage Association said Wednesday. Addressing a meeting of industry association Oil and Gas UK in London, Luke Warren welcomed the UK government’s recent move to revive CCS technology after putting a pair of projects on ice two years ago (IOD Oct.13’17). But he warned that any further delay might jeopardize the future of the UK’s oil and gas industry.
