Import slab prices in Asia have continued to rise over the past week,supported by the reduced availability of the material in the region aswell as rising global finished flat steel and raw materials prices, MetalBulletin learnt on Monday August 21.The allocation of the material in the region was reduced as thosesuppliers which are able to produce and sell billet, rather than slab,opted for billet, which is now comparatively more profitable thanslab.
