摘要

Attempts to synthesize the base-free dication [(C_(5)Me_(5))_(2)Th]~(2+) by reaction of the bis(allyl) complex (C_(5)Me_(5))_(2)Th(C_(3)H_(5))_(2) with 2 equiv of [Et_(3)NH][BPh_(4)] in benzene yielded a cationic phenyl complex that, in the presence of THF, crystallized from toluene as [(C_(5)Me_(5))_(2)Th(C_(6)H_(5))(THF)][BPh_(4)]. The reaction of the dimethyl complex (C_(5)Me_(5))_(2)ThMe_(2) with [Et_(3)NH][BPh_(4)] in toluene in the presence of nitriles RCN generates cations of the formula [(C_(5)Me_(5))_(2)Th(NCR)_(5)][BPh_(4)]_(2) (R = Me, Ph) in 40–55% crystalline yield. The molecular structures reveal the first examples of thorium cyclopentadienyl metallocene complexes with parallel rings.
