摘要

London—Limited import coal permits into China and weak global steel demand elsewhere have led to a fall in spot coking coal trade over the second quarter, with prices close to multi-year lows and supported by higher cost mines. China’s seaborne import demand, which is largely made up of Australian, Russian, Canadian and US coals, has weakened after strong imports earlier this year. This is reducing new inquiries for US coals which may be less willing to price into China after reference prices fell, market sources said.
