Yeosu- Univation Technologies has agreed to license its Unipol polyethylene (PE) technology to LG Chem (LGC) for two new PE plants to be built at LGC's petrochemical site in Yeosu, South Korea. The project will include two 300,000-t/y plants, which will enable LGC to serve both linear low-density PE (LLDPE) and high-density PE (HDPE) market segments. One unit will focus on differentiated metallocene LLDPE products and the other on a full-range of HDPE applications. Cost of the project and a schedule were not given.
