Jubail-Saudi Aramco has completed the acquisition of Shell's 50% interest in their Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Co.(Sasref)joint venture in Saudi Arabia for $631-million,making Aramco the sole owner(PCN,22-29 Apr 2019,p 1).Sasref,located in Jubail Industrial City,has a 305,000-b/d refinery and produces benzene feedstock for petrochemicals production,naphtha,kerosene,diesel,fuel oil,liquid petroleum gas,gasoline component naphtha and sulfur.The sale is part of Shell's ongoing effort to integrate its refining portfolio with Shell Trading hubs and chemical operations.
