Daesan- Hyundai Chemical Co., a joint venture of Hyundai Oilbank and Lotte Chemical, has chosen W. R. Grace & Co.'s all gas-phase Unipol PP process technology for a new polypropylene (PP) plant being set up in Daesan, South Korea. The 250,000-t/y PP facility, which will produce "high-end," specialty grade random copolymer resins, will be part of a larger cracker complex that is scheduled to open in 2021, Grace noted (PCN, 4 Feb 2019, p 4). Cost of the project was not available.
