Moscow-Sibur has concluded an upgrade project at its Polief subsidiary's site in Blagoveshchensk,Russia,to increase terephthalic acid(TPA)production capacity(PCN,1 Jan 2018,p 1).The project,which cost more than 6-billion rubles,expanded TPA production capacity to 350,000 t/y from 272,000 t/y.It will allow the company to”significantly”replace imports,Sibur noted.Over 150 units of the main technological equipment,as well as most of the auxiliary equipment,were updated.Russian design institute GSI-Giprokauchuk was the general designer of the project.
