Houston-Freeport LNG has obtained approval from the U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to non-free trade agreement companies from Train 4 of its LNG export facility on Quintana Island near Freeport, Texas (PCN, 20 May 2019, p 2). Train 4 is expected to add more than 5-million t/y of LNG production to the existing project, similar to the first three trains at the facility, increasing the project's total export capability to over 20-million t/y of LNG.
