Houston-Ineos Oligomers has awarded a lump-sum engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to a joint venture of SNC-Lavalin and JV Driver to design and build Ineos' planned polyalphaolefins (PAO) plant in Chocolate Bayou, Texas (PCN, 18-25 Dec 2017, p1). The PAO unit, which will have a production capacity of 120,000 t/y, is scheduled to come online in October 2019 and will be the "world's largest" single PAO train, Ineos earlier noted.
