Huizhou-China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) and Shell Nanhai BV said they have started production at a second ethylene cracker, as well as some derivative units, at their Nanhai petrochemicals complex in Huizhou, China (PCN, 16 Oct 2017, p 2). The project, owned and operated by the companies' 50-50 joint venture, CNOOC and Shell Petrochemical Co., increases ethylene capacity at the complex by around 1.2-million t/y, more than doubling the capacity of the complex.
