Houston-IGP Methanol said it has been granted an air quality permit by the Louisiana Dept. of Environmental Quality for its planned methanol project near Myrtle Grove in Plaquemines Parish, La. The Gulf Coast Methanol Park will consist of four identical trains, each producing 1.8-million t/y of methanol from natural gas, making it the "world's largest" permitted methanol production facility, IGP noted. Production is scheduled to begin in late 2020.
