Hainan-Clariant announced the successful start-up of its MegaMax 800 methanol synthesis catalyst at China BlueChemical Co.'s Phase 2 methanol facility in Hainan Province, China (PCN, 14 Feb 2011, p 1). The 800,000-t/y methanol unit, which utilizes methanol process technology from Davy, has been operating since 2010 in the Dongfang Industrial Park.
