Covington— Ashland said its manufacturing facilities in Marl, Germany, and Texas City, Texas, resumed normal operations after shutting down last month due to a fire at the German plant and Hurricane Harvey in south Texas. On 11 Aug., the company declared force majeure in Europe on 1,4-butanediol, tetrahydrofuran and formaldehyde as a result of the fire (PCN, 21 Aug 2017, p 3).
