This paper highlights the three sessions: (1) augmentation of water; (2) conservation of water; and (3) enhancing water quality, of a panel discussion in India. The main focus was on water quality, which has worsened due to sanitary issues on the one hand and unacceptable levels of toxic elements such as arsenic, fluoride and microbiological species on the other.
