Brazilian domestic and import premiums kept converging this week, leaving imports uncompetitive for several consumers. S&P Global Platts assessed the domestic DDP Southeast premium at $247.50/mt plus LME cash, duty paid, delivered Southeast, exclusive of VAT (ICMS, PIS/Cofins and IPI), reflective of a $220-$275/mt range for typical volumes of 100 mt, a decrease of $2.50/mt. On the other hand, Platts’ CIF Brazil import premium increased $5/mt to $165/mt plus LME cash, CIF main Brazilian ports, duty unpaid, exclusive of VAT (ICMS, PIS/Cofins and IPI). The assessment reflects a $160- $170/mt range for orders above 500 mt.
