Sydney—The Platts Shanxi daily spot alumina assessment fell Yuan 20/mt ($2.85/mt) to Yuan 2,530/mt ex-works cash Thursday, weighed on by increased imports of alumina at comparatively lower prices. Tradable values ranged between Yuan 2,480/mt and Yuan 2,600/mt cash, ex-works Shanxi on Thursday, market participants said. In southern China, Guangxi tradable prices were also indicated lower at Yuan 2,400-2,450/mt cash, down from Yuan 2,450-2,470/mt earlier this week, sources said.
