Istanbul-Problems with the Chinese economy will adversely affect global oil demand in 2020 as concerns over weaker oil demand growth persist, Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency, said Friday. “The Chinese economy is experiencing its worst period in three decades plus they have the trade tensions with the United States,” he said in an interview with S&P Global Platts. “If they don’t recover, this may well mean that demand growth from China will be slower than previously.”
