Pulsed dual beam thermal lens method is utilized to determine the thermal diffusivity of sea water. A frequency doubled Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is used as the heating source and an intensity stabilized He-Ne laser to probe the transient thermal lens signal decay. The thermal diffusivity values of the sea water are found to vary with the salinity of seawater. [References: 26]
