The seaborne metallurgical market saw little activity in China Thursday as buyers stayed on the sidelines. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol coal down 25 cents day on day at $212.50/mt FOB Australia Thursday, while the CFR China assessment was unchanged at $212/mt over the same period. In the FOB market, a trade was done at $205/mt FOB Australia for a 75,000-mt cargo of Semi Premium Blend Peak Downs North type of coal with mid-June laycan. The trade fell outside of Platts assessment window of 7-45 days, and hence was not reflected in Thursday's assessment.
