Three complete genome sequences of the White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) from Thailand, Taiwan and China were analysed for the presence of tandem repeats. Thirteen microsatellites and three minisatellite loci which could serve as potential molecular markers for studying and understanding the genetic and epidemiological relationship among WSSV strains were identified. The presence of two new polymorphic megasatellite loci within the genome is presented..
