South Africa’s mining minister urged investors notto turn their backs on coal, saying the governmentwill provide the regulatory certainty and incentivesnecessary to attract long-term investment in one ofthe country’s biggest industries.Banks, investors and energy companies, likeSouth32 and Anglo American, have reducedtheir exposure to South Africa’s coal industrydue to corruption, a politically-charged businessenvironment, and an overall global trend away fromthe fossil fuels.
