On February 6 local time, Peabody Energy Corporation, USA made clear its forecast the Company can restart alongwall mining operation at North Goonyella underground coal mine in the State of QLD, Australia at the beginning of2020.North Goonyella coal mine is a metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin in the State of QLD and located about160 km to the west of Mackay. The main type of coal produced at this coal mine is MV hard coking coal. This hard cokingcoal is exported predominantly to Japan and other Asian countries from Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT).1.6 million tons of metallurgical coal produced at North Goonyella coal mine was shipped in 2016 and 2.9 milliontons in 2017 respectively.
