Turkey’s crude steel production has expectedly declined over the two months of2019, dragged down mainly by a significant slump in the billet output.Turkey’s total crude steel production decreased by 16.1% to 5.203 million t yearon-year in January-February, Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD) reports.EAF-based mills decreased the output by 21.9% (to 3.33 million t), mainly dueto slow rebar sales. Local integrated mills produced 1.87 million during the twomonths, down by 3.2%, Metal Expert learnt.
