摘要

I spend much of each day with my eyes focused on the ground - is the soil wet enough, have the seeds germinated, is there enough compost, or how can I pull that weed? Needless to say I tend to be preoccupied with the details. So when it came time forLisa and me to plan a day with our third grade class, I naturally set out the details. Before each visit I drew up a schedule of what we would do with the kids. The schedule is broken down into thirty-minute intervals. In many ways it felt like I was trying to direct a dramatic play, orchestrating all of the roles and parts the parents, teacher and farmers would play. It's always looked real good on paper, all nine times we did this.
