While many variations on the rotary combine theme have come and gone, the Case-IH Axial-Flow design has stood the test of time. Now, having celebrated 25 years in production last year, the technology is being given a new lease of life with a bigger capacity design. Evolution rather than revolution has become the watchword among combine harvester manufacturers. Rarely are all-new machines launched into a frantic harvest; more often, new design ideas are introduced to existing models before they become part of a package of updates that constitute a new range. And so it is with the Case-IH AFX 8010 combine. The revised Axial-Flow rotor it houses has already been seen in the current 2388 where it contributes to performance gains from around 5 percent in easy going to as much as 25 percent under challenging conditions, according to user experience.
