Specialised first-hand knowledge about natural stone floor tiles, prizes to the best results in hand-crafted products, to the architects who created the best projects, a special exhibition on "tombstones: workshop of the future" and more and more exhibitors from the Far East and ever fewer from Europe. The Nuremburg 'fair, like the Verona one, is now the bridgehead of the massive invasion of natural stone from the big Chinese producers and the future of the sector is clear, at least as far as bulk orders are concerned. This year in Nuremburg we heard little Italian spoken and not many Eastern European languages (which should be the natural area of expansion of the fair), on the other hand we heard a lot of oriental languages, with Germany now taking on the role of principal trading partner in relationships between Europe and the Far East. It was however a huge fair with many firms, fortunately also some Italian ones, who managed to show the best in terms of choice of materials and of new means of expression in stone.
