摘要

An analysis of the differential speed rollcompaction of metal powder is carried out using theupper bound method to clarify process characteristics.An electrolytic copper powder is used for which thematerial constants in the constitutive equation arewell determined. The total energy dissipation rateobtained for differential speed roll compaction ofmetal powder in the 1st report is utilized. Aminimization technique of the total dissipation energyrate involving arbitrary variables is presented undergiven rolling conditions. The effects of influentialfactors such as roll speed ratio, initial roll gap andpowder feed rates on rolling load, strip thickness andrelative density are discussed. By combining with millspring, we can predict rolling load, thickness andrelative density of the compacted strips. The predictedresults agree well with experimental results obtainedunder carefully controlled powder feed rate. Theavailability of the proposed admissible velocity field is thus confirmed.
