摘要

Radiotherapy has been widely performed for several malignant tumors. Generally, the normal tissues surrounding tumors are included in treatment field, and radiation-induced adverse events are not avoided. There are acute and late adverse events according to the duration after radiotherapy. To accomplish the radiotherapy, the management is important to prevent severe acute adverse events. There are several types of radiation sensitivities for each organ, introducing the various acute adverse events. Recently, high precision radiotherapies, such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic radiotherapy, and particle beam therapy, have been developed, which could decrease the radiation-induced adverse events. In this section, we will review the prevention and treatment for acute adverse events, including mucositis, dermatitis, alopecia, gastroenteritis, and cystitis.
