Synthesis of PbI2 nanowires for high sensitivity photodetectors

摘要

A simple catalyst-free physical vapor transport method was used to synthesize lead iodide (PbI2) nanowires of high crystalline quality. The photodetectors based on the single PbI2 nanowire were fabricated by FIB technique, and their light-induced electric properties were investigated in detail. The photoswitch current ratio of the single PbI2 nanowire photodetector is 48 under the illumination of 450 nm light with an optical power of 360 mW cm(-2) at a bias of 3 V. The responsivity, R, of the detector at 3 V is about 100 mA W-1. Generally, high-yield PbI2 nanowires synthesized by the physical vapor transport method are promising candidates for high-performance photodetectors.
