摘要

Rietveld refinement using neutron powder diffraction data isreported for the potential lead-free piezoelectric materialK_xNa_(1-x)NbO_3(x =0.05,0.3) at low temperatures. Thestructures were determined to be of rhombohedral symmetry,space group R3c, with the tilt system a– a–a– for bothcompositions. It was found that some of the structuralparameters differ significantly in the two structures, andparticularly the NbO_6 octahedral strains as a function oftemperature. The 300 K profile for K_(0.05)Na_(0.95)NbO_3shows thecoexistence of rhombohedral and monoclinic phases, whichindicates that the phase boundary is close to room tempera-ture; the phase boundary for K_(0.30)Na_(0.70)NbO_3is found to be atapproximately 180 K.
