摘要

The growth and cut flower quality of chrysanthemum (D. grandiflora [Chrysanthemum morifolium] cv. Syuho-no-chikara) were evaluated in plants grown in a wet-sheet culture (WSC) with drainage (WSC/D) or with recycling (WSC/R) and in deep flow technique (DFT) with intermittent circulation (DFT/IC) or with continuous circulation (DFT/CC). A water-retaining sheet (non-woven fabric) was used as a growing medium to supply nutrient solution in WSC. Plant height and flower diameter in WSC/D and DFT/IC weresimilar to the control (soil culture), but stem diameter was larger. DFT/CC produced the shortest plants and the weakest stems. The vase life of flowers was not significantly different in plants grown in WSC and control; cut flowers obtained from DFT hadshorter vase life. In general, a higher quality of chrysanthemum can be produced in WSC than DFT.
